Want some fun this weekend? Two events happening June 9 & 10

We’ve got two awesome events happening this weekend you should check out!

  • June 9, Áine Belton’s “Double “Exposure” book launch
  • June 10, “No Bici No Fiesta” film screening of awesome Mexican bicycle-themed films.

June 9: Double Exposure

Join us at bikeSauce for the launch of Áine Belton‘s photobook “Double Exposure: Cyclists of Toronto” on June 9th, 7-10pm.

This book features 35mm film double exposure portraits of 16 cyclists & their favourite places to cycle in Toronto and the GTA.
The book is about cycling and the meaning of memory and space. Portrait sessions resulted in a series of unique double exposure portraits taken at select locations.
Together, as photographer and participant, we created these portraits that blend and embed person and place together.

Proceeds from the sale of the book will go towards the fundraising event “No Bici, No Fiesta”, organized by bikeSauce and volunteers.
Vegetarian food will be served and there will be creative activities to get involved in.

Please note that bikeSauce will not be doing any bike repairs at this evening

June 10: No Bici No Fiesta

Join us at CineCycle for exclusive screenings of films about the power of the pedal & bicycle communities in Mexico. Explore cities from the handle bars of a bike, learn about bike construction, experience group rides, and sympathize with bicycle growing pains. Take part in our raffle and be in with a chance to win some awesome prizes.

Tickets can be purchased at Bike Sauce (or pm me) for $10 starting June1 or immediately at Ticket Scene https://www.ticketscene.ca/events/18364/.

Special swag designed by Ollin Monroy of Rila Libra will be available for purchase. Handmade merchandise, beer and food will be on sale.

No Bici No Fiesta is a fundraiser to help colleagues from Mexico attend Bike!Bike! Winnipeg 2017, an international annual gathering organized by and for community bike projects and collectives that use the bicycle as a vehicle to create positive social and community change and solidarity. This conference is a space for participants from shops and related advocacy groups to converge in a different city each year to attend workshops and share ideas.

Sponsored by Bike Sauce and Charlie’s Freewheels.
