Welp, looks like we stumped a lot of you with last week’s #tooltuesday. The correct we were looking for was ‘dropout alignment tool’. Find out how it works.
It’s a pedal wrench!
The pedal wrench is just a 15mm wrench but with a few superpowers. It’s thinner than a conventional wrench, allowing it to slip into even the smallest of gaps. It’s got multiple wrench slots to allow for different positions to maximize the leverage, and it’s long handle makes removing even the toughest pedals a breeze.
Something to remember! Pedals are not designed equally. While your right-side pedal will screw on and off like normal (righty-tighty, lefty-loosy) the left pedal is reverse threaded (left-hand thread on the left-hand side). If you find yourself sweating buckets to remove the pedal, double check to make sure you’re not accidentally tightening it on.
