1. Sauce Volunteer Meeting: Wednesday May 18, 7pm

Every month, we have a volunteer meeting. It is usually held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, but this month we’re spicing things up with a meeting on the 3rd Wednesday!

There is tons of stuff to get done as we roll out Sauce 2.0, so come on out and be a part of the fun!

Wednesday, May 18
7-8:30pm
Sauce (235 Broadview Ave)

2. The Big Sauce Move: Saturday May 14, 2-7pm

The new Sauce at 235 Broadview Ave is almost up and running! There are enough resources there for full DIY service. But now we just need to move all of our other stuff up to the new location.

So grab your bike, grab a trailer and load it full of tools, bike parts, books and furniture!

We will leave with the first load at 2pm, so please arrive early to get your trailer all stocked and ready to go. We’ll leave together and caravan from Queen to Dundas.

This is guaranteed to be epic!!!

Help us get even more volunteers by RSVPing to our facebook event and invite your friends!

3. Sauce Launch Planning Meeting: Sunday June 15, 2pm

There will be a planning meeting for our wonderful up-coming Sauce 2.0 Launch and Open House (and maybe an off-site party, depending on how many hands we get out on deck???).

Sunday, May 15
2-3pm
Sauce (235 Broadview Ave)

Any interested people should come on out for the fun! The more people we get involved, the bigger the launch, the better the Sauce and the more epic June 4 will be!!!

4. Sauce 2.0 Launch: Saturday June 4, 12-6pm

Sauce is making a big move forward: from the back garage of a funeral home to the storefront of an old barber shop!

Come on out and help celebrate the launch of the new space!

12 noon: Ribbon Cutting (or chain breaking, like the last launch?)
12 – 6pm: Open House

Stop on in anytime between 12 noon and 6pm for our open house. Take a peek at our new location, figure out where the tools and books will now be found, and grab a cup of coffee from our new coffee bar!

Help us make this event massive by RSVPing to our facebook event and invite all your friends!

5. Cycling Advisory Committee Axed at City Council? May 17-18

The Toronto Cycling Advisory Committee (TCAC) advises City Council and staff on the design, development and delivery of bicycle policies, programs and facilities to promote and enhance cycling.

On April 20th, Toronto’s Executive Committee voted in support of the recommendation to eliminate the City’s 21 advisory committees, including the Toronto Cycling Advisory Committee.

According to TCAT News,Toronto was one of the first cities in North America to establish a Cycling Advisory Committee in 1975 and is one of the many Toronto initiatives that has been emulated by other cities.

City Council will have the final vote on whether or not the advisory committees will be eliminated at its meeting on May 17th and 18th. Please consider making a deputation or writing to your Councillor to let them know your opinions on the issue. Find out the email address of your Councillor here.

City Council and staff need to from us — the cycling community — about our ideas and perspectives on cycling in Toronto. By eliminating TCAC, we will no longer have the opportunity for this dialogue! Be sure to tell City Council and your Councillor how important the advisory committees are — particularly TCAC!
