5. Sauce Submits Comments to Ministry of Environment on Ashbridges Bay Environmental Report

The Ministry of Environment recently completed an Environmental Report on the future Ashbridges Bay Light Rail Vehicle Storage and Maintenance Facilities.

BikeSauce read the report and was really disappointed to see that there was no mention of cyclists in either the existing conditions of Leslie Street, or the potential impact of this project on cyclists. With no thought of cyclists in the current conditions, there was obviously no mention of mitigation measures to increase the safety for cyclists on Leslie Street.

BikeSauce sent a firmly worded letter to the Province, asking that they conduct yet another assessment report and to ensure that that they include all road users this time around. We hope to hear back from the Ministry about this issue soon.

If anyone is interested in reading our letter, or in getting involved in the efforts to include a bike lane on the newly designed Leslie Street, contact michelle@bikesauce.org.
