6. Submit TTC Comments

The TTC has completed its Environmental Report for the car storage barns at Leslie and Lakeshore Blvd. Details and reports are available here.

While we all look forward to transit improvements, some have been attending meetings and voicing concerns about safety for cyclists and primarily pedestrians (among other issues) along Leslie Street. The shopping concentration is a destination for every day needs. This stretch of road is also a gateway to the Leslie Spit and the Martin Goodman multi-use trail.

BikeSauce is advocating for a bikelane to be included in the plans — hey, they need to rip up the street and redesign it anyway for the new tracks, right???

Sauce will certainly be submitting a response to the report. And you should too!!! Please note that the deadline has been extended to Monday November 1, 2010. Send letters to ashbridges@ttc.ca.

7. Bike Boxes are here!!!

They’re here! They’re here! Have you seen them yet? If not, take a ride through St George Street and Harbord/Hoskin.

The other 3 bike boxes should be painted shortly. Yay!

Don’t really know what a bike box is or how to use them? Check out some info here from the City and here from the Bike Union.

Love the boxes and want road-users to quickly figure out how to use them legally and safely? A few of us Saicuers have been hanging out on that corner and passing out info pamphlets top confused road-users. As boring as this may sound, it is actually a lot of fun… We swear. So if you’re interested in joining in on the fun, email michelle@bikesauce.org.
