We already have a pretty good presence on the web, with an official facebooker, an official tweeter and a few people adding to our website every now and then. But you know what we’re missing? A reliable presence on the blog Biking Toronto.

We’re looking for someone who can post at least twice a week, pulling info from our Sauce Weekly, our facebook or any other Sauce-related information that we want to get out there.

If you’re interested, please email: michelle.stamour@gmail.com

7. Survey– Future of the Gardiner Expressway

An online survey has been launched by the city and Waterfront Toronto gauging residents’ use of the eastern Gardiner Expressway between Jarvis Street and the Don Valley Parkway and gaining feedback for the environmental assessment that is currently underway. The survey attempts to solicit responses from pedestrians, cyclists and drivers who use the corridor. One of the questions poses the EA’s four options for the future of the expressway so the public can weigh in on the issue of removing the highway, improving it, replacing it or doing nothing at all.

The online survey will be posted until June 20.

The survey is available here

8. New lines on the Bloor Viaduct!

Have you had a chance to bike along the Bloor Viaduct recently? Have you seen the new, wider bikes lanes and the sharrows at the conflict zones?

Over the past 2 years or so, Ward 29 Bikes and the bike community have been advocating for a safer crossing for cyclists along the busy Bloor/Danforth viaduct. In 2008, Ward 29 Bikes released a detailed and persuasive report: The Bloor Viaduct Safety Report. Last week, the city started with the pre-stripping and by this week, the project was completed!

A picture is attached. Take a look at new lines! The buffer! The sharrows!
